"The foundations of which were laid in 1966 with the establishment of Batıçim and which has become today not only one of the most important industrial groups in the Aegean region but also in Turkey, Batı Anadolu Group has come together with the working women of the Aegean markets this year on the occasion of its ""Good Markets"" project.
The ""Good Markets"" project, which the Group has brought to life two years ago with the occasion of its 50th anniversary, aims to raise the public awareness about healthy nutrition during a period when healthy nutrition has gained more importance but has also become more difficult. Communicating the importance of a healthy diet, as well as the importance of consuming a sufficient amount of fresh vegetables and fruits and preferring fresh and seasonal products to the people coming to the market for shopping, the ""Good Markets"" team has again visited the Aegean markets ranging from Tire to Seferihisar and from Bornova to Söke during the months of April and May in the third year of the project. The project team has not only provided information the people in the markets, but also lent an ear to the voices of female producers in line with this year’s main theme of the project, that is ""Women Producers of the Aegean Markets"".
Mr. Feyyaz Unal, member of the Executive Board of the Batı Anadolu Group, stated that they have reached approximately 50 thousand people this year via the ""Good Markets"" project, and that they were glad to have had the chance to meet with the women producers this year and to have taken the opportunity for solidarity.
Mr. Unal said: ""This year, women producers and how their labour was assessed has become the focus of the project. We wanted to learn about the problems and expectations of women producers in traditional open air-market places, to emphasize how valuable they are and express our gratitude once again. During these meetings, we have witnessed first-hand how happy the traditional market producer women were to actively participate in the economic life and to support their families. They have their footprints in all the processes from the croplands to our dining tables. They are the silent heroes of not only our families and our dining tables, but also of our microeconomics... ""
Stating that the participation of women in employment is an indispensable element of economic strengthening, Unal stressed that the economies that best assess the potential of women in the global competitive environment will step forward in the competition.
Batı Anadolu Group aims to contribute to getting people to adopt adequate and balanced dietary habits by establishing a direct contact with the people of the region it serves."
